A global educational technology company in the Middle East. The company was founded to provide a technology-enabled primary mode of education that would address the needs of the UAE’s as well as the global K–12 market.
The client wanted to leverage their investment in the digital learning platform that they had created for the Ministry of Education in the UAE, by developing a middle school math product for the U.S. market.
At QBS, we know how to use technology to leverage the science of learning. Our teams of content experts have a wealth of experience, not only in education publishing but also in teaching and instruction: the perfect synergy required to develop the client's U.S. product.
Design Partners Drawing from our extensive network of teachers and instructional leaders, QBS was able to connect client's platform with the Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ), one of the leading charter school networks in the United States. Partnering with HCZ provided the client with an ideal laboratory in which to pilot their U.S. Middle School math program.
From Assessments to Instruction client's goal for their U.S. product was clear – to develop a product that could help teachers improve the success of their students on high-stakes exams. QBS immersed our team in HCZ’s teaching practices and strategies, in order to incorporate these practices and strategies into the digital learning platform and connect them with our own research-based approaches to digital instruction. In close collaboration with client and HCZ, our own instructional leaders helped transform standards-based assessments into a digital learning experience that produces measurable results and is genuinely engaging for students and teachers – inspiring instructional leaders to implement the program in remedial, primary, and non-traditional educational settings. As a full-service vendor, the close collaboration between QBS’s editorial and digital engineering teams resulted in a 45-day development cycle with live usage 2-weeks after client delivery. QBS delivered complete digital learning lessons with integrated adaptive assessment and built-in differentiation, designed and developed by QBS, that allowed the client to meet the needs of their partner schools and satisfy their business objectives.
After a successful initial pilot phase, QBS was able to connect the client with two additional design partners for the final pilot phase of the project. In this phase, the program is being implemented in charter and public schools, as well as after school programs that serve three of the lowest-performing public schools in New York City.
